A missing two-year-old girl from Pennsylvania – she was kidnapped by her father's partner in love – was found dead, officials said on Tuesday.
Nalani Johnson's body was found at Pine Ridge Park in Indiana County, 37 km east of Penn Hills, where investigators said he had kidnapped her, said at a news conference Indiana County Attorney Patrick Dougherty.
Sharena Islam Nancy, 25, faced charges of kidnapping and crime. She was arrested on Saturday, police said.
Authorities said on Tuesday that Nalani Johnson's 2-year-old body was found within 40 km of where she was allegedly kidnapped.
"We believe that she is involved," Dougherty said. "To what extent, this remains to be determined."
An autopsy is scheduled for Wednesday, said Dougherty.
The investigators said that Nancy had a romantic relationship with the father of the child, Paul Johnson.
In an interview with the police, Nancy said Johnson had sold his daughter $ 10,000, The Pocono Record reported.
Sharena Nancy was accused of kidnapping Nalano Johnson, 2, this weekend.

According to a criminal complaint, Nancy reportedly told the investigators that Johnson had ordered him to take the child to a woman who would take her.
Johnson denied the allegations.
