Last year, during E3, we had learned that Gears of War would arrive on Android with a Funko Pop skin hit at the top. So I guess the fact that at this year's E3, Microsoft has officially announced that fans can order Gears POP in advance on Google Play Store via a new pre-registration list. This mobile offering was designed around collecting and upgrading dozens of Gears of War heroes and villains in a distinctive Funko Pop style, which bodes badly if you're hoping for a premium release.

The short description of the Play Store for Gears POP details a team-based game in which players can collect and enhance thirty characters from Gears of War to create the ultimate squad by mixing and matching units and their unique abilities. You can even add characters to the game with digitized cards that accompany some of the physical characters in Gears of War Funko Pop. Real-time strategic PvP seems to be the heart of the game's gameplay, but a single-player section will also be included for those who would rather face bots. More or less, Gears POP looks a lot like any other free strategy games based on a Play Store collection, which I guess is not really a surprise for a dual-branded version.

We still do not know exactly how Gears POP will be monetized, although information about digital purchases can be found in the interactive item information at the bottom of the Play Store listing. So it is probably safe to assume that it will be a free purchase. -play release. If it's convenient for you, be sure to pre-register for the title with the help of the widget below to receive notification as soon as Microsoft officially launches Gears POP in your area this summer.
