The Cowboys are moving away for the annual charity event

FRISCO, Texas – Less than one kilometer from their own training seat at The Star, many of the Cowboys' best players have traded their football jerseys for a baseball uniform against the eighth Reliant Home Run Derby.

Some of the biggest stars on the team – from Dak Prescott to Ezekiel Elliott, to Jason Witten, Amari Cooper, Jaylon Smith and Sean Lee – have been gaining momentum at Dr. Pepper's charity event. Ballpark, home of the Double-A Frisco Roughriders.

Travis Frederick, Tyron Smith, Zack Martin and Jeff Heath also participated in the event. Head Coach Jason Garrett has been named Honorary Captain.

Some of the rookies, including the second-round pick, Trysten Hill, participated in the balloons by stealth and even managed to get some of the circuits that crossed the fence.

It was a high-key night as Jason Witten took over with three impressive home runs in his first game of the night. Sean Lee also aroused the interest of the crowd by organizing the basics after a run at home.

The team raised $ 58,000 for the Salvation Army, and the MVP for the evening was Dak Prescott. One-quarter of the Cowboys raised $ 9,000 through five circuits during the night.

"It's huge for us to come here and support our community," said Prescott. "We are fortunate to have an incredible platform and it is worthless if we do not give back. We are all just grateful to be able to do it and to have a good time doing it. "

Since 2012, the Cowboys have raised nearly $ 400,000 for the Salvation Army and other local charities.
