Four people were killed on Saturday when a crane collapsed in cars on a downtown Seattle street, authorities said.
The crane fell into the traffic and crashed five cars; three people were also injured, tweeted the Seattle Fire Department.
Emergency teams traveled to Mercer Street and Fairview Avenue at approximately 3:30 pm, NBC affiliate KING5 reported in Seattle.
The crane fell on a building under construction along Mercer Street, according to the station.
Jenny Durkan, Mayor of Seattle tweeted that there was a "major incident" and asked people to avoid the area. "My thoughts and prayers are with those killed and wounded," she said.
