A new population shows that the Dallas-Fort Worth area has led US cities into new residents from 2017 to 2018.
Figures from the US Census Bureau show that the two cities, with Arlington in between, have grown by nearly 131,700 and have gained more than one million since 2010.
Houston and its neighboring cities, The Woodlands and Sugar Land, have also attracted more than a million people over the past decade.
The Dallas and Houston areas are respectively the fourth and fifth most populated metropolitan areas in the United States, behind New York, Los Angeles and Chicago.
Midland and Odessa, two Texas oil towns, were among the fastest growing countries for the 12-month period ending July 2018. Their populations increased by 4.3 and 3.2, respectively.
Globally, births and migrations have increased the Texan population by 3.5 million since 2010.
