HAMPTON, Va. – Virginia police confirmed that the human remains found in a waste incinerator earlier this month belonged to a missing 2-year-old boy.

Hampton police said Saturday in a brief statement that the DNA analysis had confirmed that the remains were those of Noah Tomlin.

Noah's mother, Julia Tomlin, has been charged with three counts of criminal dropping involving three children, including Noah. She reported that Noah had disappeared on June 24, resulting in a massive search.

When the remains were found, the police chief in Hampton refused to say how the police thought they were there and who, in their opinion, was responsible. The local prosecutor also refused to discuss the case.
