Earlier this month, the company that manufactures phones sold under the Energizer brand has announced plans to introduce a phone with a massive battery to the MWC.
This is what we call Energizer Power Max P18K and it sports a 6.2-inch screen and the company claims to offer "weeks of battery life with a single charge" thanks to its 18,000 mAh battery.
Now that the journalists have had the opportunity to see him in person, they can confirm what should have been obvious: it looks more like a gigantic electric brick than a phone.

On the one hand, it seems obvious that if you call the name Energizer on a phone, you'll be exploiting Energizer's best-known batteries. On the other hand, it really is an Energizer product on behalf only. The phone is actually a product of a French company called Avenir Telecom, which already offers dozens of other smartphones and cheap versatile phones with the name Energizer.
Anyway, the Power Max P18K Pop is probably one of the most unusual phones that debuts at the MWC … and that says something in a year when collapsible phones start to appear, and that Nubia has launched whatever his power.
The Energize Power Max P18K measures 0.7 inches (18 mm) in thickness. It's about the size of three iPhones stacked on top of each other, almost 0.2 inches thicker than my laptop.
The phone has a MediaTek Helio P70 processor, a 6.2-inch screen, 2280 x 1920 pixels, 6GB RAM and 128GB of storage, as well as a reader microSD card.
On the back of the smartphone, three cameras with 12MP, 5MP and 2MP image sensor capture the depth of field and more light than a single camera.
At first glance, you will not see any front cameras, but that's because the P18K has a popup camera that only appears when you use it. There are two front cameras: a 16MP main camera and a 2MP secondary camera.
If you are wondering what an 18,000 mAh battery can offer you, Future indicates that the phone can play videos for 2 consecutive days, listen to music up to 100 hours or offer up to 90 hours of call.
In standby, the battery lasts up to 50 days and, under normal use conditions, a week is not an unreasonable expectation.
Although the phone technically supports fast charging, it takes a long time to charge a battery of this size. A representative told Engadget that it took about 8 hours to get a full charge.
The good news is that a half-charge P18K will probably work much longer than a fully charged iPhone, Galaxy or Pixel.
Oh, and this is not the first time that Avenir has tried this type of waterfall. Last year, the company unveiled the Power Max P16K Pro. I'll let you guess what was the key function of this phone. As far as I know, it is not currently available for sale. It remains to be seen if the new P18K Pro will ever be on the streets.
