the Detroit The tigers insisted, said director Ron Gardenhire Saturday afternoon. They squeeze their bats too hard. Try too much to get something, anything, offensively.

"We have to try to start enjoying the game of baseball again," he said. "We insist a lot."

They will try to start playing baseball tomorrow.

That day, they lost again to the Oakland Athletics – their sixth overall against the general and the fifteenth consecutive A ", unable to do anything offensive." Matthew Boyd has awarded four points in 6⅓. and lost 4-1 to Comerica Park.

Boyd launched correctly – two throws that he left in the area gave rise to two innings at home and three runs – which caused many swings-and-miss. He rebounded after his four-run start against the Houston Astros on Monday.

He awarded four runs on seven hits to the A (22-25). He wrote off eight and did not work.

Boyd gave the home keeper Nick Hundley a two-run home point early in the third inning, which was enough for the A.

The Tigers (18-26) scored one in five hits. Their only goal scored when Ronny Rodriguez doubled and scored on a wild pitch at the end of the fourth.

Making his second start of the season, A's right-hander, Daniel Mengden, allowed this run on three hits in seven innings.

The Tigers have not had the advantage once in six games.

Here are three observations:

Boyd bounced back after his first real fight of the season. He plunged the Tigers into the heart of the game – they are approaching Monday on a well-deserved day off – and has been effective, with the exception of a pair of licensed circuits. In the third, Hundley hit a shot from two shots on the right court, and in the seventh, Chad Pinder gave way to center left. Boyd continued to accumulate goals in attack, but without his offensive support, he could not win.

Without wanting to offend you

For the second night in a row, the Tigers could not do much against a back pitcher. Friday night, right-hander Frankie Montas was away from a full match. In this game, Mengden kept the Tigers out of balance, controlling the match from the start. JaCoby Jones was the only Tiger to reach the base twice – he played 2-on-3 – and the Tigers had only one more shot. They left five men on the base and scored a goal against five with riders in the scoring position.
