LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18) – A second cast member from Beverly Hills 90210 passed away this week. One of the former cast members of the show lives in Lexington and sat down with LEX 18 to talk about Luke Perry and Jed Allan.

Matthew Laurance played Mel Silver in the popular TV show of the 90s, Beverly Hills 90210.

"It was supposed to be an episode and it took nine years," he said.

Sports fans in Lexington may recognize Laurance's voice. It is shown on ESPN Sports Radio at 1 pm and 92.5 FM.

The distribution of 90210 was recently devastated by the loss of Perry and Allan. Perry, who played Dylan Mckay, died as a result of a stroke.

"You've only seen incredible words and thoughts about who he was and what he was, and that's the hardest part," Laurance said. "They were a lot younger than us, so we all had some sort of fatherly feeling for all the kids in the show and Jed was a great guy too."

Allan, who periodically appeared for Rush Sanders on 90210, died this weekend at the age of 84.

Laurence said his closest friends to the show were Perry and Jason Priestley and he would always cherish the many years they worked together.

"I mean, these memories are a very important part of my life," he said.
