“[This pizza] is high in carbohydrates and low in fiber, it’s not a good combination, ”she adds. “I’m a big fan of cauliflower crust pizza, but you have to be careful and make sure you choose one with minimal ingredients,” she explains. “I love the original traditional Italian cauliflower crust. It has only 6 ingredients, all of which are natural and you can pronounce.” There are no processed ingredients and overall it is low in calories, carbs, and sodium, compared to most pizza crusts. It’s also a good option for those on a low-carb diet, like keto or paleo, or even if you’re just looking for a healthier, lower calorie, and more vegetarian option.

“You can also buy a whole wheat crust and top it with your own toppings! It’s much healthier if you top with your own sauce, cheese and vegetables, ”Schapiro says. She is a fan of the Plant-Strong Foods Pizza Kit.
