The Google Maps test uses your voice assistant when browsing

During the past year, Google Assistant has had various voices to personalize your experience. Although most Google Assistant-related applications have met this setting, there have been some incidents. One of these, Google Maps, now tests the use of your Google assistant's voice while browsing, including in Android Auto.

Slowly but surely, the Google Assistant has penetrated more and more areas in our lives, even seeking to replace other Google software, such as the Android Auto phone interface (but not as soon as we do it). had thought). One of the most common ways to use Google Assistant in the car is to use Google Maps, which has always used its own voice settings.

Today, we've noticed that Google Maps now respects the voice settings of your Google assistant when browsing. Instead of the default Google female assistant, the voice I'd chosen (green) helped me get to my destination. This applies even to Google Maps navigation in Android Auto.

We immediately tried to see if it would work with John Legend's Google Assistant cameo, but unfortunately it was not designed. In our tests, we found that you had to force Google Maps to stop and reopen it to apply changes to your wizard settings.

We do not know all the factors necessary for Maps to start complying with your assistant's voice setting, as it could be related to yesterday's Android 10 update, Google Maps, or a server-side change. The change does not seem to have been widespread yet, because no one else on the 9to5Google team had it on his devices.
