This animated action-adventure is coming to many platforms
The fantastic journey of Baldo has set a release date. The Naps developer team confirmed today that Baldo: the guardian owls will launch on August 27, 2021.
This action-adventure game has appeared on my radar several times over the years, for pretty obvious reasons. It is both a Zelda-similar game, with a cool isometric view and, according to its Steam page, full of tricky puzzles to solve and dungeons to explore.
It also has a look that is, well, similar to the well-known Studio Ghibli aesthetic. Ghibli’s comparisons can be easily tossed around these days, but just watch the trailer for Baldo: the guardian owls, the influence is quite notable. And that also seems to be to its advantage, as the trailer for today’s release is pretty neat.
Along with exploring dungeons and solving puzzles, Baldo will also have a few towns and dwellers to explore, and plenty of enemies to defeat. it looks very Zelda-like, but also, a Ghibli-inspired, Zelda-The action-adventure style game seems to be having a really good time.
Baldo: the guardian owls will land on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, Apple Arcade, and PC via Steam on August 27, 2021.
