Or maybe not. Maybe the Samsung Galaxy S10e would have been a bigger deal if it had been published separately from the other two. Maybe if Samsung had not been as determined to release three phones at different prices and specifications to compete with Apple at all levels, many more people would know and would like it a lot.

Do it again, Google

The more I think, the more I like the idea that Google publishes several phones during a year at different times. In the same way that Samsung separates the Galaxy S and Galaxy Note launches to appeal to different audiences, Google could make the Pixel look like the big thing in the fall, then publish a stellar budget in the late spring and capture at several times different audiences.

There is clearly a desire for multiple price ranges, and as premium smartphone prices continue to rise, more and more people will look at this mid-range with curiosity. If Google could own the midrange, as was the case with the Nexus years only with the units sold, this could be a very good thing for everyone.
