There were some great local performances on Friday night in what was the last week of non-league play for many high school football teams.

Sierra Canyon (3-2) defeated Norco (4-1) 35-21 at Calabasas High with a balanced running pass and attack. Senior quarterback Daniel Duran finished with 247 passing yards and two touchdowns – both for spreader Dominic Arango-Serna.

Running back Jason Jones had 71 yards and a rushing touchdown. Stanford safety Kamari Ramsey recovered a fumble from Norco and sent it back 90 yards for a touchdown.

Jerry McGee led Reseda (2-2) with plays in attack and defense Friday night in a 21-13 Valley Mission League win against Kennedy (5-1). McGee had 137 receiving yards, including one 85-yard touchdown and two defensive interceptions. His second interception sealed the victory as the Cougars sought a potential tying score.

Duhron Goodman of Valencia enjoyed stellar defensive play in the Vikings’ narrow 15-13 non-league win over Westlake. He supplied the game sealing field goal block with 36 seconds left to keep the lead. Goodman also had an interception and a forced fumble in the game.

Valencia drop to 2-2 before they start playing in the Foothill League next week. Westlake drops to 4-2.

Kayden Collins of Canoga Park had 11 carries for 203 yards and four touchdowns in three quarters on Friday night. The Hunters defeated San Fernando 41-0. Collins has totaled over 1,000 yards in five games this season.

Tyler Dieffenbach and Jake East d’Agoura were there again on Friday night in the Chargers’ 25-6 win over Calabasas. Dieffenbach had three touchdowns (two assists, one run). East had eight catches, 197 yards and one scoring.

Jack Jacobs was 13 of 15 passes for 165 yards and two touchdowns (one pass, one run). Max Garrison had 13 carries for 160 yards and four touchdowns. Milo Orona had five sacks. St. Francis (3-1) with a big 45-20 win over Los Altos.

Taft, who ended a 26-game losing streak this season, is now 3-2 after a 35-27 home win over Contreras. Robert Padilla rushed for 120 yards and two touchdowns. Wellington Bristow threw for 160 yards and two touchdowns.
