After Nokia, there are not many companies in the category of low to mid-range smartphones. Lenovo's Motorola division is one of the few groups to produce a competitor each year, with the G Play series generally around $ 200. Recently, the FCC stopped the Moto G7 Play and, thanks to our government that ignored Motorola's privacy claim, we now have a lot of device images!
The images, which have been spotted for the first time by Droid Life, show a phone that looks like a continuation of the Motorola One design that debuted earlier this year. There is a large, iPhone-style X-notch on top, which houses a front camera, a front flash, and a speaker. The manual has rounded corners and a large "Motorola" logo on the bottom panel, which has not yet been applied to FCC pre-launch devices. The rear of the vehicle looks a lot like the Moto G6 Play, with a back fingerprint reader also serving as the second Motorola logo and a round bump with a single camera and LED flash.
The FCC's internal shots show a 2,820 mAh battery on the G7 Play, which looks like an extremely disappointing degradation of the 4,000 mAh battery included in the G6 Play. You'll also find images of the Qualcomm Snapdragon 632 SoC, featuring eight (usually) Kryo 250 1.8 GHz cores, and a 14-nm manufacturing process. This should be a big upgrade to the Snapdragon 427 on the Moto G6 Play, which was a 28nm chip with only four A53 Cortex cores. There is also a headphone jack, a USB-C port and a microSD port.
Motorola is expected to announce four or five Moto G and Moto E devices at the same time in 2019, as in April this year.
