The new Firefox logo has more fire, less fox

They warned us that it was going to happen, and now it's there: Mozilla has unveiled the new logo of its Firefox web browser.

But before saying "what did they do to this poor fox!", Know that the logo you see above is not what it is – it's the global Mozilla Firefox family of products logo, each component (including the browser) also having its own logo. Right here:

See? The fox is alive and well … it's a little ethereal. The logo also looks a bit like a world on fire, which many of us can easily identify with these days. I think it's going to grow on me.

I have prepared this small comparison image so that you can see how the browser logo has evolved over the years:

Last July, Mozilla designers told the world that the logo should evolve to encompass a wider family of products, claiming that "as an icon, the fast fox with a tail on fire does not." Not enough design tools to represent this whole family of products. " – and revealing that they could either go foxy or swooshy anymore. Did they make the right choice?
