A new showcase that embraces the historic culture of Lafayette will host its grand opening and artistic walk on Saturday in downtown Lafayette.

Attakpas Collective, is a unique art space, from Cajun and Creole roots to indigenous and African roots.

The new downtown addition will have decor, gifts, seasons, books, remedies and more. From suppliers such as: Louisiana Creole Pecan Candy, Raynel Gifts & More, The Natural Way and Weeziana Girl.

According to their Facebook, they “celebrate the beginnings of Louisiana’s history and improve its people by preserving the region’s cultural ties.”

Erica Fox, co-owner of the Attakapa collective, said The Lawyer, “We kind of honor the spirit of this same type of outpost where people come together and share ideas.

To live the Attakapa Collective experience, they invite the public to 100 E Vermilion Suite # 170.

Their official opening and art walk will start at 5:00 p.m. and last until 8:00 p.m.
