After one of Carnival Cruise Line's most important transformations, Carnival Sunrise spent the last week in the Caribbean on its first trip.

The completely transformed Carnival Sunrise (formerly Carnival Triumph) began its maiden voyage on Monday, a seven-day cruise departing from Norfolk, Virginia.

The highlight of this week – long cruise was a day trip to the tropical Grand Turk area, where guests could enjoy a variety of thrilling experiences, from snorkeling to kayaking to passing by the beautiful white sand beaches.

Carnival Sunrise made its debut earlier this week after a $ 200 million renovation in Cadiz, Spain, which added all of the cruise's popular innovations in food, beverage and entertainment.

The ship will make a series of trips from Norfolk's Decker Half Moone Cruise Center before repositioning in New York for a four- to eight-day summer cruises program in Bermuda and the Caribbean.

The ship will be officially named in New York with Kelly Arison, daughter of Carnival Corporation & plc president Micky Arison, and his wife Madeleine at a special invitation-only ceremony on May 23rd. Following its schedule in New York, Carnival Sunrise is getting Lauderdale for a winter season of cruises in the Caribbean.
