The original Google Home might be a few years old, but it’s still a steal at $ 35.

Cheap things come to those who wait. Today you have the chance to get a smart speaker for one of the lowest prices on record – ideal if you’re looking to expand an existing smart home setup or launch a new one.

For a limited time and while stocks last, Salestrike has the Google Home smart speaker with Google Assistant for $ 34.99 with promo code CNET10. This model has spent a lot of time selling for $ 99; the last time we spotted a deal it was $ 75.

It’s hard to believe this thing dates back to 2016. But it’s still a solid product, combining great sounding with the myriad of benefits of Google Assistant. Is it better than, say, the current-gen Amazon Echo or even Google’s newer Nest Audio? Probably not, but these products cost $ 100.

(In fact, I would be remiss if I did not mention the Google Nest Hub, a 7-inch smart display currently on sale at Best Buy for $ 50. For just $ 15 more, you get the Google Assistant baked into a screen.)

Of course, not everyone wants a screen. If you’re just looking for a speakerphone, capable of streaming songs and podcasts, answering questions, controlling other smart gear, etc., it’s pretty hard to beat.

Read CNET Google Home review to find out more, keeping in mind that it hasn’t been updated since 2018. Google has undoubtedly rolled out updates since.

Do all the TikTok stuff? Guest talking on a Zoom call? Whatever your video projects, consider highlighting your best face with a ring light, which can really make a difference in your appearance. Better yet, get one that includes both a tripod and a phone mount, giving you a full mini recording setup.

There you go: for a limited time and while supplies last, Amazon seller Aptoyu has the 10 inch Aptoyu light ring with tripod and phone holder for $ 17.99. This is after applying the promotional code YMEK4SM2 at the register.

The LED light ring is dimmable and offers three color modes. It is powered by USB which is convenient as you can plug it into a power bank for use on the go. You even get a Bluetooth remote control to start and stop video recording.

The setup got an average rating of 4.6 stars out of around 100 buyers, and most of those ratings are legitimate, according to ReviewMeta. There are countless similar kits available on Amazon, but most sell for at least $ 25.
