The Pokemon Company is implementing more stringent measures to combat cheaters in Pokemon Sword and Shield. The company shared a statement in Pokemon Home addressing the issue and describing some of the ways it plans to penalize those who alter in-game data or use hacked Pokemon in Switch games.
“We know some users are playing Pokemon Sword and Pokemon Shield, as well as Pokemon Home, with modified data,” the statement begins. “In addition, some users have caused issues that affect the operation of games or applications or cause problems for others.
The statement then lists the actions the Pokemon Company will take against users suspected of using Modified Data, including banning them from playing online in Sword and Shield and preventing them from using Pokemon Home’s trading features. The company claims it could even suspend access to Pokemon Home from hackers entirely on both Switch and mobile devices.
“These measures may be applied temporarily or indefinitely at the discretion of The Pokemon Company. No refunds or reimbursements will be made as a result of these measures,” the statement continued. “Please note that similar measures will be taken regularly in the future and that additional restrictions and other measures may be imposed without notice. We will continue to monitor and address inappropriate or disruptive behavior on a regular basis in order to help our users to enjoy a worry. free experience. “
This isn’t the first time that The Pokemon Company has announced its intention to tackle cheaters. Last August, the company released a statement saying it was aware that some users had dropped pirated Pokémon into Pokemon Home and would take action to remove these modified monsters.
