SUMMARY: The near-perfect weather will continue for most of the coming weekend with tons of sunshine! However, chances of rain will return next week as the tropics remain active.
FRIDAY: Expect almost full sun today with highs in the mid-80s and low humidity. The north to northeast winds will keep a fresh supply of dry air to the area, keeping things looking fantastic!
FRIDAY NIGHT: A beautiful evening of football in high school is shaping up with temperatures in the 70s or even higher in a few places! Clear skies and calm winds overnight will once again give temperatures in the upper 50s on Saturday morning.
WEEKEND: As the high pressures slide eastward, temperatures will start to rise a few degrees on Saturday and Sunday, with daytime highs most likely returning to the upper 80s. Expect good sunshine to continue as moisture will be slow to return to the area.
NEXT WEEK: By Monday, a tropical depression or storm could be in the western Gulf and / or near the lower Texas coast. From there, it is not clear what path the system will take. However, there has been some consistency (but not great) among the available computer models, and the moisture from this system is likely to spread north / northeast into the Gulf Coast region from here. the middle of next week. This will likely result in at least scattered showers or storms in northern MS / AL west by Tuesday. The generally unstable weather could continue at least until Thursday, so rain will remain possible at least until then.
