Congratulations to Detroit rapper Lizzo, who bought her first single on Billboard Hot 100 # 1 with "Truth Hurts".
According to a story Display panel released Tuesday (September 3rd), the anthemic song has gone from number 3 to number 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 Songs chart this week. The rise of Lizzo to the summit can probably, at least in part, be attributed to his dazzling performance at the MTV Video Music Awards 2019 on August 26th. And some will say that his remix "Truth Hurts" with DaBaby has also helped Lizzo to reach the top spot. Anyway, she's here.
In addition to the Hot 100 chart, the song is number 2 on the Billboard Digital Sales Table and No. 4 on Billboard Streaming Songs after collecting 34.4 million US feeds in a week. On the Radio Songs chart, "Truth Hurts" ranks 4th with 98.4 million hearings during the week ending September 1st.
Lizzo is the first rapper to win a # 1 solo hit on the Hot 100 since Cardi B made it with her "Silver Bodak" money making anthem, which dominated the standings for three consecutive weeks in October 2017.
On Tuesday, Lizzo jumped on his Instagram account and thanked his fans for making "Truth Hurts" # 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 Songs chart.
"WE ARE AT ISSUE 1. IT'S AN OBJECT FOR ALL," she wrote in the caption, accompanied by an image of the Billboard Hot 100 chart. "ANYONE WHO HAS NEVER AGREED THAT HIS VOICE N & N "WAS NOT HEARD." ANYONE WHO WAS LIKE TO BE LIKE IT WAS GOOD ENOUGH YOU ARE .We ARE. CHAMPIONS. I LOVE YOU 3 MILES LIZZIANS UNITS. N TEARS. "
Again, congratulations to Lizzo for making her first single # 1. See Lizzo's GI message on her achievement and Cardi B.'s congratulations below.
