The Witcher Season 3 officially announced alongside two new Witcher projects
While we all expected new Season Two footage to be revealed at Netflix’s TUDUM event, one reveal from showrunner Lauren Hissrich took us all by surprise. Not only has the showrunner officially confirmed The witcher Season three, which has been in development for a few months now (as we reported earlier), it also announced two brand new Witcher projects.
The first of these new projects is a second animated film set in the Witcher universe. This is not surprising, as the first animated film in the series was well received by fans. There is currently no news as to whether the second animated film will be a sequel to. The wolf’s nightmare and another adventure of Vesemir, or if it will tell a completely different story.
The other new Witcher project revealed to TUDUM came as a big surprise: Netflix is currently developing a “fun series for kids and families” on the continent. Shortly after the reveal, the showrunner responded to fans’ reactions to the series.
I agree, The Witcher is a dark and mature universe. I would go further. It’s controversial. Politics. A microcosm of humanity, for all its goodness and its evil.
But I believe – I STRONGLY believe – that the moral dilemmas and ethical grayness that adults love in this universe – https://t.co/J1dqMLipOk

“The Witcher is a dark, mature universe. I would take it further. It’s controversial. Political. A microcosm of humanity, for all its goodness and evil. But I believe – STRONGLY believe – that moral dilemmas and the ethical grayness that adults love in this universe can be extrapolated to the stories that children in this chaotic world desperately need and could benefit from. ”
“I say this as a mother of an 8 year old and a 10 year old. They begged me to watch the show. They can not. It’s not appropriate, too mature and dark, as you say. Corn. If I can sit down with them and watch a version that they love, one that they can laugh at, one that they feel “gets them” and their small but meaningful place in the world – but one that can also serve as a basis for from which to talk about big topics, racism, sexism, what does it mean to be a monster? And how can we fight against these dark black holes of humanity, so that everyone knows there is a place for them? So here I am. And yes, I hope it will expand the brand’s audience. I love the world of the witcher. And I want more people to love it too, regardless of their age. Is not it ?
New Season 2 footage revealed at Netflix’s TUDUM event
The main event of The witcherThe part of TUDUM was the new sequence for season two, which includes two full clips from the first episode of the season. This episode will adapt the short story A grain of truth, which parodies the fairy tale “Beauty and the Beast”. Invited as the Beast is Game Of Thrones alum Kristofer Hivju (better known as Tormund Giantsbane), who is immersed in makeup, costumes, and CG as the season’s first new monster. In the clip, Henri cavill‘s Geralt discusses the nature of witers with Hivju’s Nivellen.
Besides this clip, a second scene was shown later in the episode. This clip teases a fight between Geralt and a bruxa (the “Beauty” in this fairytale parody is sort of a beast itself). This also includes Freya Allan‘s Ciri, who will join Geralt in Nivellen’s mansion in the Netflix adaptation of the short story. This is one of two significant deviations from the novels confirmed in the new pictures, the other being that Geralt and Nivellen are “old friends” in the Netflix adaptation (despite not knowing each other in the delivered).
Finally, Netflix has unveiled a new “Road to Season 2” trailer that includes footage from both seasons. The biggest highlight of the trailer is the start of Kim bodnia‘s Vesemir, who is about a hundred years older than the Vesemir we meet in the animated film The wolf’s nightmare. The trailer includes new footage from Anya Chalotra‘s Yennefer, as well as appearances from Dandelion, Fringilla, Cahir, and Tissaia. The Witcher: Blood Origin launches the stars of The Last Kingdom, Knightfall and more
While Netflix marketed The wolf’s nightmare and The witcher season two, production is well underway for the third project set in the Witcher universe: The Witcher: Origin of Blood. This prequel will take place hundreds of years before the main storyline of the series and will focus on the events that led to the Conjunction of the Spheres (when the worlds of men, elves, and monsters collided). Now that filming has started, Redanian Intelligence has discovered new actors.
Famous for the role of Finan in Netflix’s Viking drama The last kingdom, actor Mark Rowley has been in the role of Prince Alvitir. We don’t have any further role information at this time, but it’s possible that this character is a brother of the previously revealed character, Princess Merwyn (Mirren Mack).
british actress Claire Cooper who played an important role in Knightfall, Hollyoaks and To tear out will represent Aevenin. Although we do not know anything about his role in the series, this particular name may have come from the novels of Andrzej Sapkowski. A character by the name of Aevenien is mentioned in the novels, and she is the mother of a legendary elf seer called Ithlinne, whose full name reads Ithlinne aegli aep Aevenien (daughter of Aevenien). Coincidently, The witcher season two is expected to feature Ilithinne in a flashback or vision sequence. If Aevenin from Origin of blood is actually Ilthinne’s mother, this would serve as the second major connection from the prequel to the main series after the cast of Eredin in the prequel and season two.
Additional cast members revealed throughout September include Guy rhys (Doctors, Emmerdale) like Cavaro and Aidan O’Callaghan (Wolfe, the tower) like Kareg.
Blood Origin cast and crew filmed across the UK and new behind-the-scenes video
With filming underway in various locations across the UK, more and more footage is being taken from the set of Origin of blood.
It started with a return to Frensham Little Pond, or The witcher filmed a reunion between Geralt and Yennefer for season two. The Origin of blood the cast and crew filmed at the pond for many days, including scenes with several cast and extras. Thanks to a few talented onlookers, we were able to share the very first look at these actors in their costumes, including a possible first glimpse Michelle Yeoh |the character of Scian and Laurence O’Fuarainis Fjall. In addition, the Daily mail was able to obtain high quality images from Lenny henri who plays the Druid Balor there, and Sophie Brun‘s Eile was also present.

Recently, Origin of blood Barra’s showrunner Declan shared a behind-the-scenes video from Arborfield Studios and Iceland during the TUDUM event. The video (linked at the start of this section) offers a fun look at the cast and crew on location, but doesn’t share any new plot details.
The Witcher Season 2 recruits the composer behind Shadow and Bone
The witcherThe first season of was hailed for its unique soundtrack, composed by Sonya Belusova and Giona Ostinelli, who were the originators of “Toss a Coin to Your Witcher” as well as all of the other audible goodies in the series. While we don’t know if they’ll reprise their songwriting roles for season two, we’ve now learned that Netflix has attached another composer to the project.
According to Joseph Trapanesethe incentive management page, the Shadow and bone alum will compose music for The witcher season two. As fans of Shadow and bone No doubt will attest, Trapense is incredibly talented and will undoubtedly do a great job as a songwriter in season two. Apart from that of Netflix Shadow and Bone, Trapanese composed the soundtrack for Tron: Legacy, Oblivion, Raid and The greatest showman.
