Samsung Galaxy Note 9
Our 2018 Best of Android smartphone of the year is also one of the best Android phones for heavy users, and the reasons are not lacking.
The built-in S-Pen Pen allows for some clever features, such as controlling your presentations (if your phone is connected to an external display) and writing notes. The first is also a very practical use case, reducing the need to lug your laptop to work for this presentation meeting.
The Galaxy Note 9 also offers a 4000 mAh battery that should give you plenty of juice for the day (with some to spare). It also marks the largest battery in the Note range so far, while occupying the Galaxy S9 Plus.
The basic specifications are also at the cutting edge of technology: a Snapdragon 845 or Exynos 9810 chipset, 6 GB or 8 GB RAM, 128 GB or 512 GB (!) Expandable storage and a 14.4-inch 1440p OLED display. Add IP68 waterproofing, a headphone jack and wireless charging, and you're one of the best gems of the year. Just be sure to look for a good deal because the device starts at $ 999.
Huawei Mate 20 Pro
Huawei's Mate 20 Pro has taken a "everything and the kitchen sink" approach by embedding almost every conceivable feature in its frame (except for a 3.5mm port). The main advantages are the triple configuration of the rear camera (ultra wide, normal, telephoto), reverse wireless charging and a built-in fingerprint sensor, but it also offers some useful features.
The 4,200 mAh battery is probably the largest you'll find in a mainstream phone today, offering you a day and a half to two days use. But it also offers the fastest charge you will see, ranging from zero to 70% in just 30 minutes. So, if you have slept too much or simply do not have time to fully charge your phone, it will work particularly well.
The biggest drawback is that the phone usually starts at 1,049 euros (about $ 1,217), which makes it $ 200 more expensive than Samsung's flagship. The lack of a headphone jack is also disappointing, but it's hard to pretend you're not getting one of the best phones for heavy users and for productivity in general.
Google Pixel 3
Google's latest phone does not have the largest battery, storage, or cameras, but it has a significant advantage over Huawei and Samsung phones. Yes, you will have in stock Android as well as the latest and best updates.

Even if you do not care about pure Android, it's hard to discuss Google's commitment to feature updates and security. The company is generally committed to updating its features for two years and applying security patches for three years. The latter should ensure you some peace of mind if you need a bulletproof phone (figuratively speaking) in your work.
But the Pixel 3 series also stands out for its camera experience, offering a simple 12-megapixel rear camera and a dual camera pairing at the front. Mountain View's photography efforts also earned it a prize among our best Android awards.
OnePlus 6T
OnePlus had an outstanding 2018 year, largely due to the excellent critical and commercial reception of the OnePlus 6T. The phone certainly compromises the more expensive devices on the list, but it's hard to dispute its inclusion.
The OnePlus 6T offers a fast Snapdragon 845 chipset, 6 GB to 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB to 256 GB of storage. This puts it on the same footing as the OnePlus 6, but the brand also added a built-in fingerprint sensor and a battery of 3700 mAh (compared to the 3300 mA pack of the old phone ).
But one of the best features of the phone is its OxygenOS skin, which offers a lightweight but feature-rich Android plug. Add the company's commitment to updates and the developer community, and you'll have another phone to add to the list.
BlackBerry Key2
Have you ever doubted that the BlackBerry Key2 would be on the list? The TCL 2018 device leaves no doubt unanswered based solely on the fact that it has a QWERTY keyboard – a rarity nowadays. Of course, virtual keyboards are often faster for many people, but it is very convenient to assign applications to specific keys.
The phone also has a dedicated shortcut key (whether for the camera shutter, Play Music or Google Assistant), LG style system profiles that change your settings accordingly of the location and a 3500 mAh battery that keeps running. In fact, critics Jimmy Westenberg and David Imel both said they had an average of five to seven hours of projection screen, while Jimmy said he would finish the day regularly with 40% remaining capacity.
Now, if you consider an experienced user as needing the fastest, the Blackberry Key2 obviously does not have the same potential in this department. The addition of a medium-weight Snapdragon 660 chipset, 6 GB of RAM and expandable storage from 64 GB to 128 GB is a significant improvement over KeyOne's budget specifications. But it's far from being a beast of performance. Nevertheless, if you set an experienced user as someone who lives on his phone and needs it to fuel his productivity, the Key2 is hard to beat.
