These bubble baths will help you relax instantly

Are you feeling a little frantic? Looks like you could use a nice, long bubble bath. (Because, really, what Oprah’s favorite hobby can’t fix?) But before you grab your fall book and wine caddy, you need to know they’re not all safe … over there. Unfortunately, this means that while this relaxing activity can be a good part of your self-care routine, it is not necessarily recommended by a doctor.

Fortunately, that doesn’t mean you still can’t enjoy a good bath; you just need to think more carefully about the products. Instead of taking any old formula off the market, check the label first. (Even luxury bubble baths can contain harmful additives.) A good bubble bath has a short ingredient list with natural, moisturizing oils like jojoba and vitamins like E to hydrate dry skin. Ideally, bubble baths should also not contain sulfates, parabens, or silicones, especially if you have sensitive skin, are pregnant, or preparing a bath for a baby or toddler.

Here is a list of the best bubble baths, all gentler and safer for the whole family. (There are even a few salt-based dips for those of you with hard water.)
