Third DRS zone added to Bahrain F1 track

Pilots will now be able to activate their drag reduction system at the exit of the turn turn sequence and use it to attack in Turn 4's right turn.

The detection zone was placed 50 meters before the first turn and the activation point is just at the exit on the right side after the opening complex.

This means that the drivers will use the DRS on the three significant straight lines of the Sakhir circuit.

They can use DRS along the finish line after activating the exit of the last turn.

The new zone will give pilots a second chance to attack with DRS if they are not close enough to pass the first turn.

There is also another area on the right rear.

The effect of the DRS is more powerful this year because of the larger wings that were introduced.

Coupled with simplified aerodynamics at the front of the cars to make it easier for drivers, this should encourage a tighter race and more overtaking on more traditional patterns like that of Bahrain.
