This artist went all basquiat on his Lamborghini Aventador SVJ

Sometimes, in order for a supercar to really stand out, you have to take matters into your own hands, literally. This is exactly what a very brave man did with this Lamborghini Aventador SVJ.

Saudi artist Abdullah Qandeel recently decided to hand paint his Superveloce Jota in front of the Hôtel de Paris in Monaco. The cheeky feat was detailed in part in a video shared by YouTuber Supercars from Austria, which also ensured that “the car is definitely not racing.” (Lambo purists, watch the 5 minute clip at your own risk.)

The Aventador SVJ is certainly not the cheapest canvas – the coupe was originally priced at $ 517,700 in the US. It is also not the most readily available as the brand only produced 963 models. That didn’t stop the 33-year-old from adding his mark, however.

Not for the faint of heart, the angular bodywork of the Raging Bull has been covered with an array of graffiti-like shapes and colored lines that appear to be an attempt to channel Jean-Michel Basquiat. Qandeel also brought his brush inside. Various parts, such as the dashboard, center console, steering wheel and armrests, have been decorated with the same shiny strokes found on the exterior.

Love it or hate it, the bold paint job doesn’t take away from the punishing performance specs of the supercar. Under the hood, it packs a 6.5-liter naturally aspirated V-12 paired with a seven-speed independent shift rod transmission that’s good for 759 horsepower and 531 lb-ft of torque. This makes him quick enough to outrun critics.

The Lambo isn’t the first high-end four-wheeler to get Qandeel’s technicolor treatment, either. According to Instagram, the artist also hand painted a Porsche 911 GT3 Cup.

Interestingly, Lamborghini offers an Ad Personam personalization program to help collectors build custom cars. Porsche too. But hey, sometimes it’s more fun to try your hand at creating the machine of your dreams.
