This may or may not be a new sequence of the game Ichiban Kasuga Yakuza • Eurogamer.net

Yakuza series general manager Toshihiro Nagoshi confirmed that Yakuza's next match will be played by Yakuza Online's Ichiban Kasuga, and this video may or may not be our first look.

The reason I am hesitant about this news is that it is the April Fool's Day in Japan, and this video seems to suggest that the game contains RPG battles based on command.

However, the video comes from the official YouTube account of Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio and we know that a new game Ichiban Kasuga Yakuza is in development. As noted by Gematsu, the video – simply titled "ryu_new_0401" – seems to show "stolen" images of Yakuza's new game. Here, take a look:

A new game Ichiban Kasuga Yakuza was appearing on the PlayStation 4 when Sega announced that it would audition actresses to represent Kasuga's new partner, but nothing more was known until such time as Nagoshi confirms this news to Sega Fes 2019.

As Gematsu points out, however, the general manager of the Yakuza series, Toshihiro Nagoshi, said this weekend that he wanted to "change the [the next Yakuza game] radically "… and RPG battles based on command would certainly be a change.

Given the date, it is possible that all or part of this story is hogwash, of course, and if so, it's a fantastically elaborate joke. I'm more inclined to believe that the mode will be a kind of mini-game, but who knows? Reporting everything that happens around April's fish is a nightmare, to be honest with you.
