A Wisconsin pharmacist has been arrested after it emerged that a hospital worker had deliberately spoiled hundreds of doses of a COVID-19 vaccine, according to a report.
Although authorities have not named the suspect, records show that a licensed pharmacist, Steven Brandenburg, 46, was arrested in the Ozaukee County Jail on Thursday, the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reported.
Bradenburg – who looks sullen in his snap – has reportedly been arrested on preliminary charges of criminal damage to property and recklessly endangering safety, but it’s not clear if his charges relate to sabotaged vaccines at Aurora Medical Center .
However, police previously announced similar charges against an anonymous pharmacist on Thursday and confirmed his arrest in the case, but did not disclose the man’s identity “pending official deliberation of the charges.”
The hospital said it fired the anonymous worker on Wednesday after he admitted to intentionally removing 57 vials of Moderna vaccine from a hospital refrigerator, rendering them unnecessary.
