Three new cases of measles confirmed in Butte County

Updated 10:50 on Friday, April 19, 2019 – Butte County public health officials said three new cases have been confirmed, bringing the total to 10.

Although public exhibition venues in Chico have been identified for these cases, the investigation is underway and other places will be added to the list of places of exhibition.

Butte County, California – Three new cases of measles were confirmed Friday in Butte County, bringing the total number of cases to 10. These cases are linked to the initial measles cluster announced on March 24, 2019. (CLICK HERE for a list of cases by county)

If you or a friend or family member was an Enloe Medical Center in Chico between April 10 and April 17, 2019, you may have been exposed to measles. (CLICK HERE for a link to other places)

If you are sick with a fever, rash, cough, runny nose or red and watery eyes and were present at any of the listed locations during the periods indicated, you may have been exposed to to measles. If this is the case, you must call the Butte County Public Health Department at 0530 552-3929.

If you think you have measles symptoms, you are asked to call your doctor immediately. Public Health advises people to avoid going to a clinic, hospital, or doctor's office before calling their facility.
