BRIDGEPORT – Elkins’ Tanner Miller rolled a 42 for sharing the honors of the weak medalists in a Big 10 conference quad bike game Thursday at Bridgeport Country Club.
The Tigers finished with a team score of 206 to place second behind host Bridgeport’s 172.
Lucas D’Angelo followed Miller with a 49, while Danica Riggins had a 56, Brooke Tallman a 59, Thomas Nixon a 66 and Cory Harper a 69.
“Lucas D’Angelo played his best round of the year and it took place on a difficult golf course”, EHS coach Dave Baird said. “And Tanner is polishing his game heading into the playoffs.
“The team is starting to gain confidence and we are putting it in place at the right time. “
Bridgeport’s Marra Johnson and Mitchell Duez also shot 42 to equalize Miller’s effort.
Lewis County (229) was third and was led by Cameron Ross with a 55, and Robert C. Byrd was fourth with a 241 and was punctuated by Jacob Brannon’s 52.
The Tigers will host Buckhannon-Upshur and North Marion at 4 p.m. Monday at Elks Golf Course.
