AUGUSTA, GA – Tiger Woods posted his worst one-hole score of his professional career on Sunday, taking 10 shots at par 3 12th after hitting his ball into Rae’s Creek three times in the final round of the Masters.

Woods, the defending champion who was well off the pretense, hit his tee shot in the water, using a 155-yard 8 iron that hit the front of the green and rolled into the stream.

Right in front of the stream 70 meters from the hairpin, he again saw his ball return to the water.

Giving up again and taking a second penalty stroke, Woods went long with his fifth shot in the right back bunker. Facing an awkward position, Woods thinned the ball out of the sand, back across the green and into the water.

After falling for his seventh shot, he played his eighth again from the bunker, got the shot on the green, and made two putts for a 10.

Woods’ previous highest score was a 9 at the 1997 Memorial on the third hole at Muirfield Village Golf Club.

In major championships, he scored 8 out of par-4 twice, at the 1996 US Open and 1997 Open.

The 12th played a big part in Woods’ victory last year. This is where four suitors all hit the water – Brooks Koepka, Ian Poulter, Francesco Molinari and Tony Finau.

Woods hit a 9 iron on the green in the middle left, then two 50-foot putts to tie for the first time in the tournament. He went on to birdie at the 13th, 15th and 16th holes and won by one shot over Koepka, Dustin Johnson and Xander Sc Chaudele for his fifth Masters victory and 15th major championship.
