Tim Tebow stated that it was "easy" to refuse AAF's offer to stay with baseball

Believe it or not, Tim Tebow is entering his third full season as a field player in the New York Mets agricultural system. Yet that did not stop Steve Spurrier, head coach of the American Footballers Alliance, Orlando Apollos, from trying to persuade Tebow Back to the grid.

At the Tebow press conference on Saturday, he acknowledged Spurrier's repeated advances:

You can not blame Spurrier for trying. Tebow would have given the Apollos a big star – a person whose connections to central Florida would have allowed a natural fit of marketing. Nevertheless, Tebow said that sticking to baseball was an easy choice. For a good reason too.

Although Tebow played only 84 games last season due to injury, he hit .273 / .336 / .399 with six home runs in Double A while he was strong and in health. He could very well join the major teams this season in some capacity – if it's partly to carry goods – and behaved better as a baseball player than he could expect. Why give up now?

Tebow could not find an answer, and neither did we.
