ST. LOUIS, Mo. – An intensive care doctor in St. Louis simulated what it is like to be a coronavirus patient in his intensive care unit to try and get people to wear covers heads.
Dr Kenneth Remy tweeted a video of the simulation last Saturday and it has since gone viral. It garnered over 2,000 retweets on Friday and was picked up by major news outlets.
“I hope the last moments of your life don’t look like this,” Remy said in his video. “Because that’s what you’ll see at the end of your life, if we don’t start wearing masks when we’re in public, when we don’t practice social distancing.”

In the clip, Remy told KSDK he was simulating what it would do if a patient’s oxygen levels dropped dangerously and a breathing tube was inserted.
“Please take the necessary precautions to reduce the transmission of the COVID disease, so that we can effectively prevent the disease for you and your loved ones,” Remy continued in his video.
In an interview with CNN, Remy said he hopes the nation can get to a place where everyone realizes it’s more comfortable to wear a piece of cloth over your face than to be intubated. to the hospital.
“I don’t want this, I don’t want to see this anymore and I have to make these phone calls at the frequency we make now,” he told CNN.
Aside from being a doctor, Remy is also a city councilor in Wildwood, Missouri, so he knows how politicized wearing a mask has been. He told KSDK that if he understands the importance of personal freedoms, he is tired of patients getting infected because people refuse to wear masks.
