NHL transactions are always difficult to read. You never know if something is just a salary cap manipulation, related to that or an actual move. And it seems odd that a player, despite his personality and hateful opinions, that the Rangers stuck with last season and kind of suddenly decided they had had enough. While DeAngelo has had GIF-worthy ethers on defense and has only one assist so far this season, metrics indicate he’s actually been everything he ever was, which means he’s pushing the game in the right direction. And yet the Rangers told him again to get lost yesterday.
But simply going through production on ice would completely miss the point of problems with DeAngelo, who has been a raging penis from the time it came out of the womb if not in its embryonic stage. DeAngelo is at the forefront of Neanderthal hockey players following the MAGA-chud lifestyle, and he looks bad for the whole league. Stories of his abuse of K’Andre Miller, who is black, were rumored, and given DeAngelo’s public opinions, it wouldn’t be hard to see why he was treating Miller this way. Still, the Rangers are better off without him. The league is better off without him, but some teams will take the plunge because nothing ever goes away in the NHL. Still, let’s take this temporary W on a real bastard while we can.
