Since our last update on October 26, the Montgomery County COVID-19 Data Center reports that there were 83 new cases of coronavirus on October 27, 90 on October 28, and 114 on October 29. These new cases bring the county’s total since the start of the pandemic to 13,643.
No deaths were reported during these three days. The total number of deaths in the county since the start of the pandemic is 838.
The 14-day PCR positivity rate as of October 23 is 3.12%, compared to 2.28% on October 16. To have this number under 5% is to consider controlling the virus.
The Pennsylvania Department of Health data center shows there are 63 coronavirus hospitalizations in Montgomery County as of October 29 at noon. There are seven patients who need a ventilator.

Arkoosh, chair of the Montgomery County Board of Commissioners. “As the weather gets colder and more and more events take place indoors, we’re likely going to see increased transmission in our community. We must all continue to take common sense measures to minimize the spread of this highly contagious virus. Please wear a mask when near non-family contacts, avoid social gatherings, get tested if you need or want to, fully cooperate if you get a call from a contact tracer and download the COVID Alert PA app on your phone. - Conshohocken has 98 cases, two more than since October 26. There were no deaths.
- West Conshohocken is at 12 cases, unchanged since October 26. There were no deaths
- Plymouth Township has 270 cases, 10 more cases since October 26. There were seven deaths.
- Whitemarsh Township has 298 cases, nine more than since October 26. There were 23 deaths.
