VERONA, Wisconsin. – With the Thanksgiving holiday behind us, a lot of people are looking to Christmas.

It takes place at Christmas tree farms including the Jensen Tree Farm in Verona.

The farm has been bringing Christmas magic to families in the Madison area for 54 years, but amid the coronavirus pandemic, it now brings a sense of normalcy.

“Things like this are the start of getting back to a certain sense of normalcy,” said David Rizzo, who spent his Saturday morning with his wife finding a tree. “The smell, the longevity. It’s a tradition.”

Forest farm owner Lance Jensen said his clients have been locked up for months, but he hopes the process of picking the perfect tree can be a bit therapeutic.

“We had a lot of interest even before the start of the season. We really attribute that to a lot of people who want that beautiful quality, the Christmas spirit, ”Jensen said. “This family reunion, this family tradition. They wanted to go out and start enjoying this Christmas vacation as soon as possible. “

The farm is taking precautions this year to limit the spread of the virus, including forcing people to wear masks.
