Tristan Thompson becomes an American citizen, then flies to Boston

NBA champion, father, partner … and now Tristan thompson has a new title: US citizen.

The 29-year-old Canadian-born athlete was sworn in at a naturalization ceremony just before Thanksgiving and days after news of the signing of an agreement to play for the Boston Celtics was announced. On Saturday, November 28, he shared a photo of himself on his way to his new NBA home.

A photo of a masked Tristan, Khloe kardashianpartner of and father of their 2 year old daughter True Thompson, raising his right hand pledging his pledge of allegiance next to an American flag, was posted on the Twitter US Citizenship and Immigration Services West Region page on Tuesday, November 24.

According to the organization, Tristan said, “I came to the United States on a student visa and always had big dreams. I am now truly living the American dream.

“Congratulations on achieving your goals @ RealTristan13!” the group tweeted. “Good luck with the #Celtics @NBA as a #NewUSCitizen!”

Only Tristan and a USCIS officer are seen in the photo. It is not known whether Khloe or True attended the NBA star’s naturalization ceremony.
