WASHINGTON – President Donald Trump lobbied China on trade talks on Sunday saying that US tariffs on some Chinese products would rise to 25 percent on Friday and more Chinese goods would be subject to additional tariffs.

"For the past 10 months, China has been paying US tariffs of 25 percent on $ 50 billion in high tech and 10 percent on $ 200 billion in other products," Trump wrote on Twitter.

"The 10% will increase until 25% Friday." 325 billion of additional goods that China has sent us are not taxed, but will be soon, at a rate of 25%, "he added. (Report by Timothy Gardner edited by Mary Milliken and Lisa Shumaker)
