“Can anyone believe that the Cleveland Indians, a legendary and beloved baseball franchise since taking the name in 1915, are changing their name to Guardians? Such a shame,” Trump said in a report Friday.

“And I guarantee you the most angry people about this are the many Indians in our country,” Trump added.

The Major League Baseball team announced their decision on Friday morning with a video narrated by Tom Hanks.

“There’s always been Cleveland. That’s the best part of our name,” Hanks said in the video.

Trump has long lambasted professional sports teams for throwing out names criticized as racist.

Last year Trump criticized the Cleveland baseball team and the Washington football team for pushing to change their names in order to drop Native American nicknames, accusing the franchises of trying to “be politically correct.” .
