President Trump criticized NASA's decision to explore the moon in a Friday tweetA few months earlier, he would have touted the exploration of the moon as an opportunity to "establish a base" for a possible trip to Mars. Trump wrote in a tweet that the agency "should NOT talk about going to the moon," because the United States "did it 50 years ago". "They should focus on the much bigger things we do, including Mars (which Moon is a part of), Defense and Science!" Wrote Trump on Friday. The Washington Post reports that Trump signed a directive in December 2017 inviting NASA to project to the moon after the National Council of Space unanimously approved the plan. Just three weeks ago, Trump also tweeted that NASA would regain its splendor by "returning to the moon and then to Mars". Trump reportedly posted Friday's tweet just after Fox Business animator Neil Cavuto questioned NASA's lunar motion.
