EXCLUSIVE: Former President Trump said the United States has “never been more embarrassed” than the “precipitous” withdrawal of the Biden administration from military resources in Afghanistan, telling Fox News that the United States had ” an incompetent person as a leader of our country ”.

Trump, in an exclusive interview with Fox News digital, reflected on September 11, 2001, calling it “a terrible day in our history”, but pointed to a “terrible week in our history recently.”

“To have this embarrassment of taking place in Afghanistan with the same people who wreaked havoc 20 years ago is the greatest embarrassment in our country’s history,” Trump said.

“There has never been anything like it. It looks like we fled, and all because we have an incompetent person as the leader of our country,” Trump told Fox News.

Trump, who brokered a deal with the Taliban as president for a troop withdrawal in May 2021, said this “would never have happened” under his administration.

“I didn’t even stick to it because I wanted to get out before May 1 and when they violated the terms we bombed and did a lot of things,” Trump said. “They adhered to one condition: not to kill Americans or soldiers.”

Trump added, “We hadn’t lost a soldier or an American in 18 months in Afghanistan. It was going very well.”

The Biden administration withdrew all U.S. military assets from Afghanistan on August 31, after the country fell to the Taliban.

“They would never have approached us. It wouldn’t have happened, they wouldn’t have taken care of anything,” Trump said. “They knew that if they did, they would be bombed in hell.”

He added: “They knew it – and that’s why they would never have come to fill that void.”

Trump said that when the Biden administration started pulling out American forces, “we created this big open wound, a void, and the Taliban just came in and filled it, and within 24 hours they were in control. the country”.

“When I heard they were withdrawing the military, I thought it was inconceivable,” Trump said.

When asked if he had any words of comfort for Gold Star and the families of the military and veterans, Trump replied: arrive. ‘”

“But they should be very angry,” Trump said. “They can’t even be feeling a little good or optimistic because we have an administration that doesn’t know what they’re doing.”

Trump said there was “no chance of this happening”.

“They should never have taken out the army first – you take out the army last, after everyone else is out,” Trump said, referring to US citizens and Afghan allies left behind after the mission military evacuation, which expired on August 31. The Biden administration said the mission had shifted from a military mission to a “diplomatic” one.

“No man, no woman is left behind,” Trump said. “But we left, what could be, thousands.”

The State Department is currently working on a diplomatic mission to evacuate known US citizens in Afghanistan, who they say total about 100 people, and Afghan allies.

On Thursday, the White House announced the safe evacuation of Americans from Kabul to Qatar, and said the Taliban were “cooperative” and had been “pragmatic and professional” as administration officials were working to evacuate the Americans. The White House called this dialogue a “positive first step”.

In response, Trump said the Biden administration “looked like a fool”, calling their rhetoric “sad and pathetic.”

“These are the people who toppled the World Trade Center. These are the people who treated people so inhumanly, so badly,” Trump said. “I mean, we’ve been fighting them for 25 years, and think they’re reliable now?”

The former president went on to criticize the Biden administration for leaving behind what he estimated at $ 85 billion in military equipment. Trump predicted that the Taliban would send any damaged American equipment to China and Russia for repair.

“We had huge air power, which they have now, and that’s not even believable,” Trump said, wondering why the Biden administration left American planes in Afghanistan.

Trump went on to praise the success of the military under his administration in bombing and killing Iranian General Qassem Soleimani, ISIS leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, and destroying ISIS’s caliphate.

“I got rid of ISIS’s caliphate 100%, Soleimani, al Baghdadi,” Trump said. “Everybody is gone.”

Asked about his administration’s success in negotiating the Abrahamic Accords, the peace deal between Israel and the United Arab Emirates that normalized relations, Trump replied, “We would have had peace in the Middle East.

“But the United States looks like a bunch of jerks right now. Looks like we’ve surrendered,” he said. “Looks like we ran.”

Looking to the future, Trump said the United States must “move forward.”

“We have no choice, we have to do what we have to do,” Trump said. “We are an embarrassed country, and we’ve never had anything like it.”

He added: “We are no longer respected… We are disrespected all over the world.”

“I can’t tell you how bad it is,” Trump said.

Meanwhile, regarding his plans for 9/11, Trump has said he will be heading to Manhattan.

“It’s very depressing,” Trump said. “It was supposed to be a victory day.”

“Now is a day of embarrassment,” he continued. ” How is it going ? ”

Trump added, “I think Biden rushed in to try and claim victory, and now he looks like a jerk.”
