Trump Jr .: Senate should ‘maybe have something better to do’ than go through an impeachment trial

Efforts by House Democrats to convict former President Donald Trump in this week’s Senate impeachment trial are not what the federal government should be focusing on, Donald Trump Jr. told “Hannity” on Tuesday.

“Are we not in the middle of a pandemic?” the president’s eldest son asked host Sean Hannity. “I thought maybe these senators would have something better to do. Maybe they would really fight for the American people, for a change. Maybe they would really dedicate themselves to helping us get through this. pandemic.”

Trump Jr. noted that the new administration has so far neglected to provide coronavirus aid to the public while killing jobs thanks to Biden’s executive climate action and opening up the country’s borders without any directives from security regarding the spread of the virus.

“Double standards are insane and maybe the US Senate should focus on that rather than their nonsense,” he said.

Trump Jr. later compared his father’s much-criticized rhetoric and the Capitol Riot to past statements by Democratic officials and the riots that plagued several American cities last year.

“You kind of highlighted all the hypocrisy that we saw in 10 months of riots, looting, arson, political type,” he told Hannity. “Frankly, everything my father said on January 6th was soft in comparison, but if you were to take his speech and compare it to any ridiculous speech ever given in the history of politics, you would see absolutely no deviation.”

“We turned the other cheek as they slapped us in the face and laughed as they won every major fight along the way.”
