(CNN) – Former President Donald Trump eviscerated Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell on Saturday for compromising with Senate Democrats over a temporary period debt ceiling agreement, his latest streak against the top Republican in Washington as Trump continues to hint at a 2024 presidential bid.

Trump made the remarks at a rally in Des Moines, Iowa, where Republican Gov. Kim Reynolds, Representative Mariannette Miller-Meeks and Senator Chuck Grassley also took the stage.

“Thinking we had 11 Republicans with an overtime. Directed by Mitch McConnell, can you believe it? Trump spoke about the debt ceiling deal. “And do you know what that feels like?” It gives Democrats more time, two months, gives them more time to find out. They can now have two more months to figure out how to fuck us, okay.

McConnell proposed a debt ceiling deal that kicked off negotiations with Democrats, with the Senate vote 50-48 last week to extend the debt limit until early December. Eleven Senate Republicans, including McConnell, broke ranks to vote with all Democrats to overcome an obstruction so that the measure can go forward.

The former president, who has repeatedly hinted at a 2024 presidential candidacy, also lambasted McConnell for do not support the efforts cancel the results of the 2020 elections.

“Mitch McConnell should have challenged this election because even back then we had a lot of material to challenge this election. He should have challenged the election, ”Trump said. “He is only a leader because he raises a lot of money and gives it to senators, that’s the only thing he has. It is his only form of leadership.

McConnell lambasted Trump’s baseless claims of widespread electoral fraud, for which there is no evidence in the 2020 presidential election.

Trump has attacked McConnell several times this year in the midst of freezing tensions.

The former president called McConnell an “austere, sullen, and smileless political hack” after the Kentucky senator criticized Trump for his behavior on and after the day of the U.S. Capitol uprising.

He also called on Senate Republicans to replace McConnell with a new leader in an April interview with Fox Business host Maria Bartiromo, and in July Trump insulted McConnell as an “Old Crow,” which McConnell told CNN was “quite an honor”.

“Old Crow is Henry Clay’s favorite bourbon,” he said at the time.
