Trump-appointed GSA administrator Emily Murphy sent a letter to Biden on Monday saying he would have access to federal resources and services to facilitate a presidential transition, according to a copy obtained by The Hill.

Trump in two tweets wrote that he had asked Murphy to start the transition, although he did not concede his loss to Biden and said he would continue to fight.

The tweet marked a change for Trump, who has refused to acknowledge the election results since Biden was first screened as the winner more than two weeks ago.

The move comes about three weeks after the presidential election, amid mounting pressure on Murphy to be the winner to have millions of dollars in federal resources released to help with the transition process.

“As the Administrator of the General Service Administration of the United States, I have the capacity under the Presidential Transition Act of 1963, as amended, to make certain post-employment resources and services available. electoral to assist in a presidential transition, ”Murphy wrote.

Biden’s transition team welcomed this formal finding, calling it “not necessary to start addressing the challenges our country faces, including containing the pandemic and getting our economy back on track. .
