TV channels reject commercials for R-rated anti-abortion film

The film "Unplanned" has been shown in 1,000 cinemas across the country. Pure Flix, the production company behind the film, mainly targets Christian and conservative audiences. According to the Hollywood Reporter, Lifetime's public relations team told producers "Unplanned" that the network would reject the movie's commercials because of the "sensitive nature of the film". Discovery-owned companies including Travel Channel, Cooking Channel, HGTV, and Food Network all echoed Lifetime's sentiment.

"Most networks have not gone into detail without mentioning the subject of the film and not getting into politics, but we do not think we belong to the political category," said Joe Knopp. a producer for the film.
