‘TWD’ Season 11 returns on February 20, 2022. Trailer teases Daryl in the Commonwealth

• AMC has released a new teaser for “TWD” coming back next year ahead of Sunday’s Part 1 finale.
• The Alexandrians head to the Commonwealth to join Ezekiel, Princess, Yumiko and Eugene.
• “The Walking Dead” will return to television on February 20, 2022 and air a week earlier on AMC +.

Carol and Daryl are heading to the Commonwealth next year!

Ahead of the Sunday airing of the Season 11 finale of “The Walking Dead” Part 1, AMC announced that Part 2 of the final season will air on February 20, 2022 at 9:00 p.m. with a teaser for the next eight episodes.

The Winter Premiere will be available to stream a week earlier on AMC +, as each of the Part 1 episodes have been.

Warning: If you haven’t yet watched the Part 1 finale (currently streaming on AMC +) and are expecting to watch it on TV this Sunday, I would advise against watching the trailer below, because it spoils some of the cliffhangers in the finale.

Here is the synopsis for AMC Part 2:

“In February, ‘The Walking Dead’ returns with many of our heroes battling an impending hellfire
under Reaper attack; while others fight the torrential wrath of Mother Nature in Alexandria. For everyone,
their world is literally collapsing around them. Meanwhile, life in the Commonwealth is not
as idyllic as it sounds. For some, hope will be renewed. Others will be pushed beyond the point of
no comeback. One truth holds firm: lives are at stake with every decision in a drastic way
change their future, their chances of survival and the state of each community.

Releasing a new trailer for “The Walking Dead” for Part 2 ahead of the Part 1 finale on television appears to defeat the purpose of the finale. The trailer downgrades the value of a few cliffhangers from Sunday’s upcoming episode, which I’ll vaguely touch on below, as AMC has asked reporters not to discuss details of Season 11, from Episode 8 through. its broadcast on television.

With that in mind, here are some great things we noticed in the new Part 2 teaser:

• Daryl, Maggie, Negan, and Father Gabriel appear to escape the Reaper Raid in Sunday’s Part 1 finale as they all seem safe. Well, except for Negan’s face. It doesn’t seem OK.

• Judith seems to be doing well. Gracie is nowhere in sight, which makes us a little concerned for her safety and Aaron’s deteriorating mental state.
• Dog appears to choose Daryl over Leah and returns to Alexandria with him.

• Pamela Milton, the leader of the Commonwealth, will be featured in this second batch of episodes (we already knew that, though).

This Sunday’s Part 1 finale, currently airing on AMC +, shows the Reapers defending Maggie’s house, Meridian, against a herd of walkers. The Alexandrians defend their house from an impending torrential downpour.

AMC also announced that the entire next eight-episode batch of “TWD” will continue to be available one week in advance on AMC + before it airs on television.
