Friday showers left snow on Jobs Peak for the first time since mid-June.

Less than a tenth of an inch of rain fell over Carson Valley on Friday morning as a cold front passed through it.

An inch of snow was reported at Hagan’s Meadow. Genoa received less than 0.05 inches.

As a front approached, the Pine Nut Mountains in northeastern Douglas County were dotted with lightning, with nearly 10 strikes shown on Lightningmaps.org

The Reno National Weather Service reported that most of the upper elevations of the Sierra received 1 to 3 inches of snow.

Most of the storm has passed north of Carson Valley, but there is a chance that additional moisture will arrive early next week.

Meanwhile, residents face below-freezing temperatures from Saturday morning, with forecast low to 25 degrees in Minden.

A chance of showers returns to forecast after 11:00 p.m. Sunday, with the snow level dropping to 7,400 feet after midnight. Snow showers could reach the valley floor with the snow level falling to 4,700 feet on Monday afternoon.
