Victor Oladipo’s plea for an escape from the Pacers created a family drama.
The Indianapolis Star reported Thursday that Oladipo, in last season’s games against the Raptors, Heat and Knicks, could be heard in front of his Pacers teammates asking players from opposing teams, “May I come and play with you all. ? “
Oladipo has since denied the report and his twin sister came to his support on Thursday, accusing his teammates of lying.
“Pew that tweet stinks … what kind of teammates would lie like that,” Victoria Oladipo wrote in response to a tweet on the report.
When another user responded, suggesting it was center Pacers Myles Turner, Victoria responded with two emojis – a sealed mouth and a shrug, which obviously caught Turner’s attention.
“Damn, is it like that?” Turner tweeted back.
“Rumors are rumors for a reason if you haven’t heard him say it then it’s not true or do we forget people are lying,” Victoria wrote later in a separate tweet.
The messy situation comes with Oladipo having a year on his contract which has made him the subject of commercial rumors. Turner was also mentioned in trade rumors, but it was Oladipo on Thursday who had to defend himself.
“I’m a Pacer, dawg. I’m a Pacer, ”the 28-year-old guard wrote on Instagram. “I can’t control the rumors, man. All those on the internet, I don’t even know where they’re from. I’m just in the background, working on my knee, trying to manage for next year.
