Twitter adored Gordon Hayward's superb release against the Pacers

Gordon Hayward had a handful of punchy plays in the Boston Celtics' victory over the Indiana Pacers on Sunday. But his most important game of the day might not have counted.

Hayward dominated the crowd for a two-handed dunk in the third quarter (video below). Officials blamed the great Celtics man, Aaron Baynes, but Hayward spun with a smile. After that, he would take the ball in isolation and lead to the goal with intent, even emptying a bucket on Myles Turner in the fourth quarter. (It was a bit of revenge that Turner posterized Hayward earlier in the game.) This bucket probably helped create space on the perimeter, where he toppled a 3-point dagger with three minutes remaining in the match.

With Hayward's help, Boston swept Indiana into the playoffs.

After shooting 7 of 9 on the field and 3 of 3 on 3 while scoring 20 points, Hayward spoke about the game and the series in a post-game interview on ABC's pitch.

"It was a rambling series, a defensive series, a physical series," Hayward said. "I feel good. When you 4-0 a team, you feel good."

Hayward's physics throughout the match, especially on his dunk, motivated optimism in Boston. Is he back at the right time?

Twitter fans seemed to believe that the star, who is coming back from an ankle injury last year, is coming back to big things.
